Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault (born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimmyenezon September 2, 1966)[3][4][5]), is an American and Mexican actress. She began her career in Mexico with her starring role in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as also in the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) and for which she won an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood by appearing in films like Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal of painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002), which she also co-produced, made her the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6as well as earning her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to produce as well as starring in action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico later on in her career.
